WORKSHOP details
FROM JOHN . . .
John has broken down the audition into a 3-step process. With his unique instruction, you will learn to approach your auditions with confidence. He will help you to become natural and believable in front of the camera with exercises on listening, connecting and working "In the Moment".
This workshop will teach the actor to break down scenes quickly and effectively, finding all of the hidden information on the page. Anything can happen in the room so the actor needs to be prepared for any auditioning scenario.
Actors will be able to see the casting process from every angle. They will get to see through the eyes of the Casting Director, Director and Producer. Learn what goes on when the actor is not in the room!
IMPROVISATION
Learning to think on your feet. Quick and confident answers are crucial, especially during commercial auditions. Be ready for when casting directors say, "Just Do Something".
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
Learn how to breakdown scenes quickly and create your character. Understand script terminology, pick up hidden information on the page, and know which questions to ask.
AUDITIONING for FILM
Learn how to walk in and "Own the Room". Audition techniques include slating, working with a reader, understanding the camera, and the overall casting process.
AUDITIONING for COMMERCIALS
Learn to break down the copy and emphasize what is important, read as a spokesperson or with a scene partner. You can’t be self-conscious when performing commercial copy. It may seem silly at times but...SILLY SELLS!
THE CALLBACK
What every actor wants to hear! How to audition the second time around, important information on what "To Do" and "Not To Do" when the Job is on the line.
